About Me I believe the best learning happens when students are joyfully engaged in meaningful projects and inquiries. This year we will focus on learning about the environment and habitats. Through exciting projects we will build the foundational skills for reading, writing, math and learn how to work together. We will learn about our own growth as we develop the lifelong skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity - innovation and problem solving. I have had the honor of teaching at Calistoga Elementary School since 1996. I received my BA from The Evergreen State College, a Master's in Health Sciences from Duke University and my teaching credential, and BCLAD from Dominican University, California. I completed a second Master's in Education - Innovative Learning from Touro University December 2012 and am teaching as an adjunct faculty member in Touro University's Graduate School of Education.
I bring my background in science and health into the classroom and am excited about using Project Based Learning, science, the arts, and technology to develop lifelong learning skills in our young students.
Our Classroom - Our Own Special Habitat for Learning
We have lots of fun in Kindergarten! There is plenty of time to play, explore, make new friends, dance and sing! We even love rest time. We will be learning about habitats this year! Do you like to play outside, learn about animals, create fun projects, and make movies? We can hardly wait to meet you and your family!
